What we collect
- Your full name, email address and mobile phone number.
- Your organisation, country and, where required, an ID or passport number for security clearance.
- The event, registration category and days you plan to attend.
- Any accessibility or dietary requirements you choose to tell us about.
- A record of whether you have checked in, with the time and gate.
Why we collect it
We process your data to issue your visitor pass, to manage event accreditation and capacity, to meet building security requirements at KICC, and to maintain attendance records for reporting to event organisers and sponsors in aggregate form.
Lawful basis
We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the registration form, and on our legitimate interest in maintaining the security of the KICC precinct. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, though we may still need to retain minimal attendance records to meet legal and security obligations.
How long we keep it
Registration records are retained for the duration of the event and for a reasonable period afterwards for reporting and security purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
Who we share it with
Access is limited to authorised KICC events, security and accreditation staff, and to the organiser of the event you registered for. We do not sell your data. Where a service provider processes data on our behalf โ for example our email delivery provider โ they do so under contract and only on our instructions.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to correct inaccurate data, to request erasure, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact the KICC events desk.
